Are You Using Facebook Live?

Happy Friday, MC Techs and Ambassadors! Here's your weekly update from KW Technology and a preview of what we'll discuss on today's KW Technology Community webinar. 
ARE YOU USING FACEBOOK LIVE?
On the surface, Facebook Live is a basic feature that offers live-streaming video capabilities to users. By tapping the live stream icon, you can start broadcasting video live from your smartphone, and write an optional description for the event. Any users following you will have the ability to “tune in” to the broadcast. At the end of the video, you can tap “finish” to complete the video, at which point it will be posted as a permanently available feature on your timeline. The maximum time limit for a broadcast is currently 30 minutes.

Before the internet, it was difficult for your  clients to communicate the value of your service to others inside and outside of your sphere. Testimonials can persuade consumer decisions, strengthen your online presence credit, and support the inbound marketing strategies you already have in place and have been working towards. 

 In today’s digital ecosphere, 70% of consumers look at online reviews before they buy products or use services, and this puts a lot of emphasis on the importance of harnessing testimonials as social proof in an effort to speak to your customers’ needs without talking at them.

You're Helping Keep Our Agents' Accounts Secure!

 YOU'RE HELPING KEEP OUR AGENTS' ACCOUNTS SECURE!
Imagine losing access to your Google account and everything in it. If someone steals your password, they could lock you out of your account, and then do some of the following:
  • Go through – or even delete – all of your emails, contacts, photos, etc.
  • Pretend to be you and send unwanted or harmful emails to your contacts
  • Use your account to reset the passwords for your other accounts (banking, shopping, etc.
That’s why it’s so important to enable 2-Step Verification on your Google Apps for Work account. 2-Step Verification can help keep bad guys out, even if they have your password.

 NEW IN eEDGE THIS WEEK
  • Reduce Spam: When consumers fill out the CMA request form on the Sell page, they will be asked to enter the CAPTCHA code. This will prevent some of the spam issues we've seen on this page.
  • Dive Deep Into Website Analytics: Connect your Google Analytics Tracking ID to your eEdge account to give you more insight into how visitors find and use your site. You can do this on the Website Admin > Website Analytics page in your eEdge account.
  • Simplify Marketing Tasks: You'll notice a streamlined Create Marketing menu and Market Center landing page. Non-Marketing Center links have been removed, all agent related links appear at the top and all Design Library templates in the middle. Additionally, personalizing a media template will auto-save with the step after saving in the Editor.

     HELP IMPLEMENT CGI IN YOUR MARKET CENTER
    The signs of a market shift are starting to show. Now is the time to help your agents shift-proof their businesses by getting them engaged in the Career Growth Initiative (CGI). To date, more than 20,000 associates have entered their goals into the CGI Calculator and we want to ensure that every agent has this same opportunity. 

     Every Monday at 1 PM (Central Time), John Davis will host a company-wide call to share the power of the CGI system and tools. Your leadership team can find the call information as well as a CGI Implementation Plan on the CGI page on KWUConnect.

     Additionally, we understand that many of you experienced sound issues throughout this past Monday's myCGI Kickoff call. We certainly regret any inconvenience this caused you and want to ensure your associates have the opportunity to hear John's message. The call was re-recorded and can be found on KWUConnect.

     UPSTREAM: AN ENVIRONMENT THAT SUPPORTS INNOVATION
    Chris Heller, CEO of Keller Williams, says, “The real estate industry is changing because it needs to change. The way we search for properties is broken. And part of the reason is because the way our industry shares data is broken.” 

     The way that listing information currently flows today is chaotic, confusing, and often leads to the distribution of inaccurate information. 

     In an effort to streamline the management of listing data, a coalition of brokerages, networks and national franchisors - including Keller Williams - united to create a centralized data repository of listing information—known as Upstream. This technology platform is being built so associates can enter, store, modify, and distribute listing data. Upstream is not a consumer-facing website - it will not compete with syndication sites.

     Ultimately, Upstream will offer agents a simplified data entry process and control over the distribution of their listings. This will ensure not only that accurate listing information is distributed, but also that each agent can decide when and where to send their listings. It offers protection to agents, brokers and consumers and it is why Keller Williams has been working with Upstream from the very beginning.

      Have We Become Data-Rich, Yet Insight-Poor?

      Happy Friday, KW Technology Community members! Here's a look at just a few items that will be discussed on today's KW Technology Community webinar.

       HAVE WE BECOME DATA-RICH, YET INSIGHT-POOR?

      As a society, we generate more information now more than ever. Exactly how much? Google's Executive Chairman, Eric Schmidt, says, "Every two days we create as much information as humankind compiled from the first written document to 2003, roughly five exabytes of data.” And how much is five exabytes? Five billion billion bytes. We're virtually drowning in data.

       How does this show up in the real estate industry? Agents are no longer the sole source of information. All that real estate data once exclusively available to agents is out there for consumers to find quite easily on their own. However, this does not mean agents are no longer needed. Agents, in fact, can provide tremendous value by helping consumers filter out the noise and make sense of the data. The role of the agent is shifting to one of information provider to information interpreter.

      July 25 is "myCGI Day," when every Market Center is expected to kick off the Career Growth Initiative with our first company wide CGI call, led by John Davis, beginning at 1:00 PM Central Time.

       John will cast the vision for how this initiative will help each and every KW agent create opportunities for themselves and their families. Even more importantly, he'll share how Market Center leadership are adding value and helping drive their business forward using the Four Conversations.

       As Technology Ambassadors, you can help engage your Market Center's agents in the CGI by encouraging everyone in your Market Center to gather for the call. The more people, the greater the buzz!

        Career Growth Initiative (CGI) Kicks Off on July 25

        Happy Friday, KW Technology Community members! Here's a look at just a few items that will be discussed on today's KW Technology Community webinar.

        CAREER GROWTH INITIATIVE (CGI) KICKS OFF ON JULY 25
        Build a Business that Funds Your Life
        Built on the phenomenal success of the Growth Initiative, the Career Growth Initiative (CGI) is how we’re going to help each and every Keller Williams agent achieve the next level of production and profitability. Since these metrics drive our value and will push us ALL to achieve new heights, that’s what we’re going after with full force.

         Whether an agent is new to the industry or already a top producer, the CGI brings laser focus to the activities that lead to results. This suite of interconnected value tools provides agents an unprecedented view into their business so they know EXACTLY what needs to be accomplished in order to achieve all-new levels of production and profitability: the two factors that determine if their business can fund the life they envision for themselves and their families.

         On July 25, also known as "myCGI Day," each Market Center is expected to kick off this initiative with their very own CGI Workshop. Designed to help agents set annual goals and begin using the CGI’s suite of value tools, this workshop will show agents just how much your leadership team cares about their business. Additionally, John Davis will be leading calls every Monday (beginning on July 25) for Market Center leadership to host with their agents.

         As Technology Ambassadors, you can help engage your Market Center's agents in the CGI by consulting with them on how to best leverage technology to achieve their goals.

        KW IS TAKING BACK AND DISRUPTING THE REAL ESTATE INDUSTRY
        At Mega Tech this year, you'll hear from two new KW executive leaders: Josh Team, Chief Innovation Officer and Steve Peterschmidt, Chief Technology Officer.

         Josh and Steve are partnering to bring in their experience from outside the real estate industry to deliver a continuously evolving and fast-paced innovation and technology environment to enable Keller Williams and its associates to change the world.
        At Mega Tech on August 10, they'll describe how KW plans to take back and disrupt the real estate industry. They’ll talk about how KW will change the way people buy and sell homes through new technology, through new models, and through new offerings. They're passionate about the opportunity to turn data into insights for our agents and then for our consumers through the agent. Finally, they'll present seven new platforms that KW is launching at Mega Camp to help you run your business.

         On August 11, at the MC Tech/Ambassador session, you’ll have a chance to hear from Josh and Steve in a more intimate setting, and ask them your questions. You’ll also get to mastermind with your peers about what these changes will mean for the industry, for your Market Center, and how you can help lead your agents through these changes.

            Executive-level technology leaders will share their vision for a KW Technology platform powered by 140,000+ agents. If you are already attending Mega Camp, there is no extra charge to attend this session.
