A New Look for the KW Mobile App

Happy Friday, KW Technology community members! Here's a look at what you can expect on today's Tech Community webinar. 

KW MOBILE APP INTERFACE ENHANCEMENTS
This week, your KW mobile real estate search app got a face lift and is now available for download at both the Apple and Google Play stores. 

 Highlights include:
  • Larger photos to take advantage of larger form factor of current mobile devices
  • Key property info displayed on main property photo
  • Listing status clearly displayed on main property photo (active, pending – taking backups, off market, etc.)
The new user interface (UI) is a result of usability research and testing, feedback from the user community, and collaboration with the mobile app Product Advisory Group. Thanks to all who contributed to the upgrade!

UPDATES TO MARKET CENTER TRANSMITTAL PROCESS

Good news for MCAs - the transmittal process has become more efficient! Your MCA should have received an email from KWRI announcing that two new systems are in place (and required) for the March transmittal:
  • New KW Financial Statement (KWFS): Allows submission of financial data throughout the month instead of only at transmittal time and also allows viewing of other months in the current accounting year without having to resubmit accounting data each time. All Market Centers must complete soft close by Monday, March 28 using the new KW Financial Statement to ensure a successful transmittal. 
  • (U.S. only) New version of AccountEdge: Prior to this month's transmittal, each Market Center must upgrade AccountEdge to the new version (25), and perform a backup.
Instructions and resources for the new KWFS and AccountEdge are available at myKW.kw.com > Technology > MC Software.

GOOGLE 2-STEP VERIFICATION NOW ENABLED
Keller Williams is beefing up its security and is enabling 2-Step Verification on your Google Apps for Work account. 2-Step Verification is the next evolution of email security. Passwords were a great first step, but can’t help you if you are a victim of a phishing attack. Some phishing attacks are so clever you may never suspect them. But, with a second step of security to verify any new devices logging into your account, or when your password changes, you can significantly reduce your risk of being scammed by a phishing attack.

 This feature is enabled for you to turn it on, if you want to; it's not a forced security upgrade. However, we highly encourage all associates to take advantage of this important feature.

Update on KW Website Rollout

Happy Friday, KW Technology community members! Here's a look at what you can expect on today's Tech Community webinar. 

 UPDATE ON KW WEBSITE ROLLOUT
We know that you and your agents are anxious to get started on your new KW Websites. The rollout is targeted to begin in the next few weeks. The websites will be rolled out in batches, on an MLS-by-MLS basis, beginning with MLS organizations that currently have agreements with Placester. 

 On today’s KW Technology Community webinar, we’ll share with you what we’ve done so far and what’s left to do so that the rollout can begin. Join us to hear from our KW Website Project Manager, Meredith Ethridge, as she talks about what goes into creating a great website experience for 134,000 agents and their clients.

 In the meantime, check out the KW Website page on myKW to see feature details and revisit your blog and social media strategy to be ready.

 Also, join today's webinar for a look at a new KW Websites classroom workshop we've created. You'll have everything you need to teach your agents how to get started with their new websites when your MLS rolls out.

 eEDGE UPDATES
As of this week, two new features are available in eEdge:

Search Listings by Keywords – Want to find properties with waterfront access, boat docks, or single story homes? Narrowing the search for the right home has gotten easier. You and your website visitors can now search listing remarks using keywords or phrases. 
  1. On your eEdge top navigation bar, click Search MLS.
  2. Simply type your search criteria into the “Remarks Keyword” field to find the properties where that term is included in the remarks from your MLS. 
  3. Set up a listing alert with that same search term(s) so your clients never miss a listing!
Efficiently Add a New Contact to a Group – Save time by adding a new contact to a group while in the “Add a Contact” section of your CRM. We are all about streamlining your productivity and this new feature will do just that! NOTE: Adding a new contact to a group via “Add a Contact” does not automatically add them to a campaign that group may be on.

KW Listing Agreement with Zillow Group

Happy Friday, KW Technology community members!

 Today's date is more than just a box on the calendar - it's a command. "March Forth!" Some people use this day as a time to set goals that will bring them closer to realizing their dreams. So, if you haven't done your annual goal-setting yet, today's a great day to do so! And, Google Play Music has a John Philip Sousa March radio station, should you need a soundtrack for inspiration.  

 Without further ado, let's march forth with what you can expect on today's Tech Community webinar. 

 eEdge myTransactions Update
Curious if your email has been delivered? Want to know if your document has been successfully shared with your client? Now, you can view the status of your shares in your Activity Log!

 When you share a document, an email is sent out to everyone you have shared with.  Due to the nature of things like spam filtering, your email may never be received.  Within your Activity Log you can see the status of these emails. 

KW Listing Agreement with Zillow Group
It has been seven years since we first negotiated our listing treatment with Zillow Group. Since then, a lot has happened in our industry and with how our associates do business. We felt it was time to craft a new content agreement, and so we did. However, our original goal of leveraging KWRI’s ability to negotiate favorable listing treatments with syndication partners on behalf of all of our associates remains solid. 

 Our new agreement is in line Keller Williams Realty's “my listing, my lead,” philosophy. It guarantees that no other agent’s branding will display on our associates' listings.

 You will notice the agent photo and phone number is featured prominently on the page. In addition, it links to our agent's Zillow Group profile page and, as before, it will always include a link to our agent's listing on KW.com.

 We know that Zillow is an advertising company and they have to sell. Our goal for our new listing treatment was to ensure brand placement for our associates without paying for a premiere account. On today's webinar, David Ponton, Manager of Technology Training and Implementation, will tell you more about our new listing agreement with Zillow Group and answer your questions.

 Get started now! 

  1. Go to KWUConnect.com.
  2. Provide your myKW username or White Pages email, request a password, and log in. 
  3. Once you're logged in, type "Family Reunion" in the search field to view recordings of this year's Vision Speech, State of Your Company, and selected breakout sessions.
  4. Explore the site to see what your fellow associates have contributed, and consider sharing your own content as well! This is truly a social learning platform.

Family Reunion Downloads

  • You can download the presentation visuals (PDFs) from most breakout sessions on the Family Reunion Downloads page. This year, Vision Speech slides are available for download as well! Encourage your agents to incorporate information from this presentation when meeting with prospective clients.
  • So that you can share the technology updates with the associates in your Market Center, we've made the Google slides available from the special Family Reunion session exclusively for MC Techs and Tech Ambassadors. Please do not share these slides outside the Technology Community!

Last KW Tech Update Before Family Reunion 2016

Happy Friday, everyone! This will be our last KW Technology Community update - and webinar - before we take a two-week hiatus to bring you the biggest and best Family Reunion yet in New Orleans!

  • Create your own personal schedule and access location and speaker information. 
  • Access interactive maps and find local places. 
  • Check-in to sessions, meetings, keynotes, and exhibitor booths.

Not going to New Orleans? That doesn't mean you have to miss out. FREE livestreams of the Vision Speech, State of Your Company, and State of the Culture sessions will be available!

 eEDGE MASTHEAD ENHANCEMENTS COMING FEBRUARY 10
New features coming February 10
Last week, your eEdge masthead became less cluttered and boasted a new contact search field. Next week, you'll see additional improvements to this area, which include:
  • Email and Reminders icons will display the number of emails and reminders that need immediate attention
  • All admin functions will move to a new profile widget drop-down
  • The Admin menu item will be removed

You may have noticed that we've simplified the top navigation area of your eEdge Dashboard this week. It includes a new Contact Search Bar that allows you to easily search for contacts by name, email, or phone number - no matter where you are in the system. The Contact Search Bar's auto-complete functionality makes finding your contacts faster than ever. 

 EASIER ACCESS TO WEEKLY TECHNOLOGY WEBINARS
Not only are your eEdge contacts easier to find, so are the weekly technology webinars we offer. We've updated the myKW.kw.com > Technology page to include links to all of our Monday webinars as well as the recorded webinars. Make Your Database Work for You

Happy Friday, everyone! Here is this week's update and a preview of what we'll discuss on today's KW Technology Community webinar.

MAKE YOUR DATABASE WORK FOR YOU
There are three truths about contact databases: 
  1. A powerful database produces leads.
  2. A powerful database managed by a powerful schedule produces a predictable flow of leads.
  3. A only with a predictable flow of leads can you expect a predictable flow of business. 
This means that the size of your database will impact the size of your bank account. With this in mind, consider these tips for making your database work for you.
  • Get the right CRM. A Customer Relationship Manager (CRM) makes it easier to manage your client relationships. Important features in a CRM include simplicity, ease of integration with existing tools, mobile access, and analytics.
  • Determine how you'll organize your database. In your CRM, create placeholders for the various categories or groups into which you’ll organize all of your contacts. Doing so allows you to send targeted, relevant communications to each of the audiences (based on demographic/interest) in your database.
  • Put every contact in your database. Add contacts from every source—phone, email, spreadsheets, business cards, sticky notes, receipts, you name it. Then, purge duplicates and invalid contacts. Remember: garbage in/garbage out. 
  • Create a schedule to nurture your database. Your database isn’t just a book of names, it’s a book of your relationships, which are alive and need nurturing. Like a garden, your database needs to be tended to, pruned, weeded, and fed. Make it a habit to interact with your database in a meaningful way every day. 
  • Feed your database every day. Make it a habit to add every new contact immediately to your database and put them on a relevant touch campaign. You should also be asking for business and referrals from your existing database. This is the benefit of having a mobile CRM. Constantly lead generate to acquire good, healthy contacts.
